When someone shows interest in advertising their available room with NYFA a lot has to be taken into account. Below are the steps before NYFA will list an available room.

1. Each interested party has to fill out an application form in order to tell us about what they offer and who they are.
2. After the application is approved we request a background check. This will check if the individual has a criminal history so we can weed out any individuals who are not fit to house our students.
3. Once the background check is approved the landlord must agree to our Terms of Use. We have made the Terms public on the home page.
4. If the landlord is approved by all the previous steps then we will schedule a home visit to interview and tour the home. Please note that although we are touring the premises NYFA expressly disclaims any and all responsibility for any problems that may arise within connection therewithin. Individuals are strongly advised to thoroughly investigate and inspect any properties, accommodations, or other housing options before making final arrangements.
5. If all the above is approved then NYFA Housing will provide an account for the landlord. At this point, the landlord may start advertising their home to our students when necessary.

Please remember, the listing of rental opportunities on this site is offered as a service to local property owners and to NYFA graduates, current students, faculty, and staff. Property owners and persons seeking roommates are responsible for reporting information fairly and accurately. We caution all prospective tenants and roommates to verify all information you receive, additionally, always have terms to any rental agreement written in a contract.
